    • Watch MotorTrend struggle to launch an Aston Martin DB11 during acceleration testing - 12.1@124.7 1/4 mile

This is kind of pathetic. How hard is it to launch an automatic DB11 exactly? What is so complicated here? The MotorTrend test driver can not seem to figure it out. He complains about the low end yet this is a 5.2 liter twin turbo V12 with 600 horsepower we're talking about.

Low end torque is not the problem. Wheelspin is as the test driver struggles to put the power down off the launch. He complains that the power should be linear and flat but apparently is new to turbochargers and how they work. If that is the power delivery he expects he should look at the naturally aspirated V12 powered car the DB11 is now replacing.

This testing takes place at California Speedway. They have a burnout box. Why isn't it being used? Secondly, if on the drag strip why not make the full use of it with some actual drag rubber to show how the DB11 can really accelerate? What is the point of going out to a strip for acceleration testing and making pathetic attempt after pathetic attempt?

On one hand he complains about it bogging yet he also complains about wheelspin. Ok, load up the torque converter (use the hand brake if you need to) and do an aggressive launch on some proper rubber.

Finally he gets a 0-60 time of 4.0 and a 1/4 mile sprint of 12.1 @ 124.7 miles per hour on a Vbox. They did not include the full data because apparently they prefer talking to showing the full test results.

Expect better numbers from people who know how to launch on a dragstrip.

Dude is a tool. Also, I can't decide what to think about this car. I kinda like it but the more I look at it the more it looks like the new mustang.
It isn't as elegantly good looking as the previous Astons

I'd be too embarrassed to publish a video like this. This is garbage.
