    • Pair your AMG M177 V8 to a manual transmission - 2020 Aston Martin AMR limited edition plus manual option coming

Aston Martin owners are a unique bunch and they are not necessarily focused on acceleration as much as the driving experience. The Aston Martin experience is about the style, sound, interaction, and exclusivity more than anything else.

The upcoming AMR will provide exactly that. Based on the Vantage it will have the AMG sourced M177 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 but it will be paired to a manual transmission. This is the only way to get the AMG motor paired to a manual. Only 200 examples will be built.

Additionally, the switch to the manual transmission along with adding carbon ceramic brakes is said to shave 200 pounds from the car. That is a major win for those who love to drive.

You do not have to opt for he expensive limited edition AMR to get a manual transmission. It will become a standard option starting in 2020.

Suddenly the Aston Martin Vantage just became a much more enthusiast oriented vehicle.

I had never really dwelt on the fact that all of the vehicles that come equipped with the 4 l V8 bi Turbo M177 engine are automatics, but now that I have and I lament that sad fact, it is great to know there will at least be a few examples Of one vehicle paired with a manual, even if I will probably never own one. Will be interesting to see how many of these Aston Martin martin make starting in 2020.
